If you heard the phrase “Blood On the Dance Floor” what would your first thought be? To some it may be the Michael Jackson album. Others may recall a bloody horror movie scene. Well what we’re discussing here is a band called Blood On the Dance Floor, consisting of Dahvie Vanity and Jayy Von Monroe. They’re from our very own Orlando, Florida and proclaim themselves as being the “fans’ band.” Their electronic techno style is definently appreciated in this day and age in that not many artists dip thier musical brushes into this genre of music. With their pumping beats and not so kosher lyrics, Dahvie and Jayy push boundaries with their musical talents. Dahvie and Jayy truly stick to their idea of being the “fans’ band” in that they interact with the fans at every opportunity. At shows they are more than willing to take pictures and sign autographs for fans, and they converse with fans over their internet based sites. BOTDF’s fan base, The Slash Gash Terror Crew, is even mentioned in many of their songs, such as “It’s Hard To Be A Diamond in A Rhinestone World.” Dahvie and Jayy have sweet, eccentric, silly personalities that are one-uped only by their drastic and colorful appearances. They also know how to put on a real show and get the audience pumped and energenic. They returned to their hometown of Orlando this past summer for the Warped Tour 2011 tour as the closing band for the Skullcandy stage. Their performance was to start at about 8pm so the crowd from this all day music fest is drained from the heat and jamming out to other bands all day. So how do they get the crowd going? By being their exotic and unique selves. Throughout the performance they had many surprise appearances, including someone dressed in a Pikachu suit, another in a panda suit, and one more in a green body suit. Dahvie also interacted with the crowd by actually jumping off the stage and to the railing during the performance. Now I know what you’re all probably thinking, “If this band is really as great as you say Cryssi, then why have we never heard of them before?” Well BOTDF has been around for 5 years now, it’s hard to get out there and become well known as a band. They’ve been at it for so long and never once gave up on their dream or their fans. They have released two EPs, four full-length albums, one compilation of their most popular songs, and numerous singles. They just released their fourth album All the Rage!! this year and fans have had a very postitive response to it. This is one band to definently keep an eye and an ear out for. They’re slowing rising to well deserved fame.
So I haven’t been on here in a while :P haha well I guess it doesn’t matter too much since I really don’t expect anyone to pay too much attention to me on here :P So I think I might change my major after I get my AA in nursing :P I dunno, nursing has never really been what I was interested in for my future, I was pretty much forced into it by my mom, but now I’m saying screw it and going with my true passion: writing. I’ve always been great with writing and I love it, haven’t done so much of it lately because of school and work draining me the past two years but I’ve decided that I’m gonna go back to it. As you probably already know, I love music and am a HUGE music junkie. So I’m definently thinking about becoming a music journalist. I’ve got a lot of work and research ahead of me to make this dream a reality, but it’s what I really want to do so I’m gonna go for it. In light of this decision, I’ve decided that I’m going to turn my tumblr back to what I had originally intended for it to be when I created it: my own personal music journalism page. I’ll be reviewing albums, concerts, bands, venues, and the like. So if you’re interested in what I have to say about the above then stick around and keep checking back with me.
Slits & Stitches,

haha so I decided to to cut my hair a bit the other night because it’s been a little over a year since I’ve had it cut and the ends of my hair just looked and felt icky so I said screw it and trimmed it. But of course, since it’s me, I’m pretty sure it’s uneven and one side is longer than the other -_____- lolz o well. I would cut it more and experiment with my hair a bit but I’m going to my boyfriend’s brother’s wedding lunch in thing on saturday and I don’t think it would be too great if I showed up with my hair chopped up all crazy. I’ll probably end up curling it or something so they won’t notice that it’s uneven lolz XD. So besides my hair cutting escapades, I’ve been job hunting like crazy, but to no avail :( O well just gotta keep applying, I gotta get the job SOMEWHERE D: and I’ve been playing my guitar a good bit, learning some new stuff and writing a few things, not that great though haha. OH!! and how could I forget about the fact that my laptop that I’ve had for a little over three years now is completely fried thanks to my mom’s friend trying to “fix the cd drive” -____-’ I have no idea what he did but before he got a hold of it it was working fine with the exception of the cd drive, then he has it for 3 weeks and it’s running slow as fudge and I can’t do anything on it. Needless to say I’m highly upset. Although one good thing came out of my laptop getting completely screwed up, I may be getting a macbook sooner than I expected :D I’ve been trying to save up for one for some time but now my mom’s thinking about pitching in a good bit to help me get one since her friend was the one who messed up my laptop. Now to just get all my crud off of my old laptop and save it before there’s no chance of ever getting it back. And onto my music obsessions as of late :D So I’ve gone back to listening to bands that I loved back in middle school. As I write this blog I’m listenin to some old Hawthorne Heights :D, RIP Casey D’: And I keep going back to really old Sum 41, old Panic! At The Disco, and just so many others. It’s crazy. Probably cause I went and started learning these bands songs on the guitar lately lolz. Annnd I’ve still got a reallllyyy nice and reeeaaallllyyy pretty BC Rich Warbeast up for grabs if anyone in my area wants to make an offer on it :D I’m willing to negotiate prices :DD. And more musical news, I CAN NOT wait for Lady Gaga’s Born This Way CD to come out on Monday!! :DDD I’m so going for the 2 disc special edition :DDD OH! annnnd I went to one of the best concerts I have ever been to last Monday with my friend Michelle!! We went and saw Bullet For My Valentine(the main reason I went :DDD), Three Days Grace (got to see them for the second time), annnnnd Avenged Sevenfold!! It was such an amazing show!! :D And the weird thing about the arena that we went to see it at was that the seating worked basically the same way as the floor in that it’s “first come first serve.” So we were there two hours early, ran into the arena, ducked and slid under rails, and jumped over people’s legs haha XD It was soooo much fun! :D Still wish we could have been on the floor but Michelle is tiiiinyyyy so she probably would have died if I had talked her into bein on the floor and right up on the rail, especially since I could see about 3 or 4 mosh pits during the show O.O It was still an amazing show regardless :DD I’ll post some of the best piccis I got in a bit. I would post all of em but I kinda took 210 piccis O.O It took FOREVER to get em all on facebook so I’m just gonna put a handful up on here haha XD Well that’s all I’m gonna rant about for now.
